Since '24 I've been cleaning and carving animal skulls. My inspiration for every piece flows from nature and African patterns. I sketch out each design by hand until it is perfect for the surface of the skull.
There is a 6 month waiting list on commissions. Cleaning and carving a skull can take a few months, while just carving only a few weeks.
I preferably do not carve on old skulls, or if it's been cleaned by harsh chemicals or boiling methods, for the structure of the bone are too weak for the craft of carving.
